People are not the most sensitive creatures. Time feel so-so. They do not feel the direction «North — South» at all — they need a compass for this. How do they feel? More often than not, only own hurt feelings. This is the reason for the loss of sensitivity to everything else. Because the inside always overshadows the outside. The inner is closer. Its signals are stronger. They overload our senses, and they are no longer capable of detecting subtle and weak signals.

Birds always sense the Earth's magnetic field. On lines of equal field strength, they keep a course across the ocean, making intercontinental flights. The Earth's magnetic field is not static. It changes under the influence of solar flares. And the birds take this into account. It turns out that they even feel the solar wind.

We are not.

Perhaps someone will object: Some people suffer during magnetic storms, and therefore feel all these instabilities of magnetic nature.

Right.

But here the key word is "suffer".

Feeling and suffering are not the same things.

The birds don't suffer. They use it, the way we use roads to move.
They begin to suffer only when they lose their ability to feel the strength of the Earth's magnetic field - when they go astray. Because - to go off course over the ocean - for a bird means - to die, or at least to lose everyone she knew. And even if it manages to reach the unfamiliar coast, fold tired wings, it is unlikely that its song will help it regain its own flock.
